Rakija is traditionally a spirit poured slowly around the table. The cans take that same spirit somewhere lighter, colder and more casual. They are crisp, refreshing and made to be served straight from the fridge or pulled from an esky on a hot day. Bring them to a barbecue, take them to a friend’s place or keep a few cold for the plans that come together at the last minute. Rakija may carry generations of tradition, but that does not mean there is only one way to enjoy it.
The pre-drink is rarely the most organised part of the night. Someone is still getting ready. Someone is late. Music is playing from a phone and nobody has decided where they are going next.
That is exactly where the cans belong.
They give you the flavour and character of a mixed drink without needing bottles, glassware or a perfectly stocked bar. Open one while getting ready, share a few before dinner or take them along when the night starts somewhere other than home. Easy does not have to mean ordinary.
